Dulwich Hamlet are proud to announce a special event taking place before our home game against Crystal Palace this weekend

This Saturday (27th July) a group of football fans will be walking the 5 miles from Selhurst Park to Champion Hill prior to the friendly match between Dulwich Hamlet and Crystal Palace XI.

This initiative follows a number of ‘Walk and Talk’ events which have been building over the last five years and were started by a group of Fulham fans, known on Twitter as @OriginalsUtd.

The aim is to raise awareness for men’s mental health (in support of the charity CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably). Shockingly, male suicide is the biggest killer of men aged under 45 in the UK, equating to around 84 men a week.

Men in particular find it hard to talk and reach out when they need help and support. The group wants to show that it's alright to not to feel ok and that you are never alone.

The walk sets off from Selhurst Park at 11:30 am and will arrive at Champion Hill around 2pm, with a short rest stop at The Paxton, Gypsy Hill on the way. Amongst those doing the walk will be Crystal Palace and Dulwich Hamlet legends Alan Smith and Andy Gray.
