World Cup Predictor Competition Winners
As the World Cup came to a close last night, the final points were scored in our 12th Man prediction competition and the winners have been announced.
A big thank you to everyone that took part. We received 98 entries and therefore raised £245 for the Dulwich Hamlet 12th Man campaign, every penny of which will go towards the club's playing budget for the season ahead. The points have now been counted and verified, and we can reveal the four winners…
- 1st place (£125 cash prize) – JOE BANNON
- 2nd place (£60 cash prize) – MICK O'SHAUGHNESSY
- 3rd place (£40 cash prize) – GARY WATERS
- 4th place (£20 cash prize) – RICHARD GEORGE
The full set of final standings can be seen on the 12th Man blog.
Our winner 'Mystic Joe' not only picked Germany to win the competition, but he successfully called 7 out of 8 of the group winners. His prediction prowess was proved further by Brazil's consolation goal in their 7-1 semi-final drubbing, as he also forecast there would be 8 goals in the highest scoring match!
The 12th Man team are organising two further competitions for the season ahead. The DHFC 2014/15 predictor asks for a series of predictions on how Hamlet will fare over the coming season, while the Premier Predictor is focussed on the Premier League and the main cup competitions. It's just £5 to enter either competition, with half of the prize money going to the 12th Man and the other half going to cash prizes. You can pick up entry forms at any Hamlet home game, or you can download them using the links below. Online entry will also be available shortly. The deadline for entering both competitions is 31st August.
