Dulwich were able to welcome back Anthony Acheampong on the bench but lost Muhammadu Faal and Dumebi Dumaka from the side that won at Harrow Borough. This meant that Nathan Ferguson was deployed in a role further forward. there was also a first start for Tanasheh Abrahams and, late in the game, a debut for youth team prospect Ciao Guimares.
The Hamlet could have been in front inside a minute had Nyren Clunis been able to control a long ball forward to him, but his touch let him down and the chance was gone. Dulwich continued to control the game and spurned another chance o go in front in the ninth minute. Good play on the left between Tanasheh Abrahams and Ashley Carew resulted in a chance that Michael Chambers, laying on the floor, could only scoop over.
Worthing's first attack of note came in the 14th minute when fine play from Harvey Sparks set up a chance for Reece Meekums that he blazed high and wide, whilst a minute later Preston Edwards had to be alert to stop a low cross at his near post; Marc Weatherstone completing the clearance.
Ashley Carew brought a fine 23rd minute save from Lucas Covolan in the home goal, having been set up by a good passing interchange between Ibrahim Kargbo and Nyren Clunis.
Just five minutes later The Hamlet took the lead when a cross from Quade Taylor was cleared to Ibrahim Kargbo some 25 yards out and his effort beat Covolan via a slight deflection.
Having got his second goal of the season, Kargo came close to adding another but his 32nd minute effort was just too high. Ashley Carew saw a free kick tipped over by Covolan and Quade Taylor saw his cross from the right put just wide by a defender arriving at the near post.
Right on half time Ashley Carew was unable to control his effort from 40 yards after Covolan had cleared the ball to him.
Half Time 0-1
Carew saw another free kick held by Covolan in the first minute of the second half and another effort was beaten away in the 53rd minute. A minute later, Nyren Clunis fired wide and then the increasingly overworked Covolan made a fine save from a Nathan Ferguson shot.
With 56 minutes played Preston Edwards was finally called into meaningful action. Rickie Hayles committed a foul near the penalty area and Sam Rents stepped up to send the resulting free kick at goal. However, Edwards sprang to his left to push the effort wide.
Dulwich did manage to put the game to bed in the 67th minute as Nyren Clunis turned his man 20 yards out and then fired a low shot to Covolan's left and out of reach of his despairing dive.
The Worthing keeper made another save from Carew and then the Dulwich playmaker delivered a superb 73rd minute cross that left Covolan rooted to his line but none of the onrushing Rickie Hayles, Nana Boakye-Yiadom or Nyren Clunis could apply a touch.
With ten minutes remaining Worthing were reduced to ten men when their captain Ben Pope was given his marching orders for a crude lunge on Kenny Beaney. Following the dismissal, Covolan again had to make three fine stops from Nyren Clunis and he also thwarted Nana Boakye-Yiadom after he had caught a defender in possession.
Final Score 0-2
