REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet vs Tottenham Hotspur | 6/4/25
South met North at Champion Hill on Sunday afternoon for a spot in the Capital Women's Cup final.
The Hamlet were missing 3 attacking options on Sunday as Angie Dunbar-Bonnie and Iesha Swaby missed out due to other commitments whilst Tash Stephens completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon.
It took just 7 minutes for Martha Goddard to put the Hamlet ahead. Her high press put Spurs under pressure and intercepted a pass before smashing her shot home to put the Hamlet ahead.
Martha almost doubled her tally and the Hamlet lead after 30 minutes as she dinked it over a Spurs defender before firing her volley wide.
Despite a controlling start to the game the Hamlet would let Spurs equalise minutes later after a rare mistake from Saskia Reeves-Priestley led to Mia Endacott to win the ball and fire into the back of the net.
As the sides looked destined to head in at half-time level Goddard fired the Hamlet back ahead. Asia Harbour Brown won the ball and drove forward and she found the feet of Martha Goddard who took it round the keeper and passed it into the back of the net sending the Hill wild.
The Hamlet went close twice on the 60 minute mark. Asia whipped in a cross to Nat Taylor who had her shot tipped wide. Lily Price's corner would find Morgan Searle but her header went into the keepers hands.
Tia Searle would almost seal the Hamlet's spot in the final minutes after coming on she pounced onto a ball and broke through on goal but fired her shot just wide of the post.
That would be that though as the Hamlet defeated Spurs and booked their spot in the final against Arsenal
