Rhea Gall joins our Black History Exhibition
We are pleased to announce the latest inductee to our permanent exhibition of prominent black Hamlet players and coaches, Rhea Gall who is a member of our women’s team.
In October 2015, the club celebrated the start of that years Black History Month by unveiling a photo exhibition commemorating the achievements of various past and present black players and coaching staff. The initial set of 8 pictures were added to in 2021 and included, for the first time, members of our women’s team.
The exhibition has been on permanent display in the club bar since 2020 and Rhea’s picture will shortly be added to those already on display.
Defender Rhea, has been involved with the club for over a decade and started playing for the club from the age of 15, firstly for the reserve team at AFC phoenix before they merged with Dulwich Hamlet in 2019, and has become a permanent member of our women’s first team.
Outside of the club, Rhea works for Football Beyond Borders (FBB) an organisation many Hamlet fans will be aware of with the club having supported FBB since it’s early years, as their school programmes lead.
FBB makes use of the power of football to support young people navigate school and Rhea’s work has a direct positive influence on not only young people who are at risk of being excluded, but those that might need support in other areas of their lives.
Her FFB role involves her working directly with the young people in school delivering a social and emotional learning curriculum as well as playing football with them to develop different types of soft skills needed for school and in wider life.
In a recent club interview Rhea explained that she love’s being a mentor for young people and enjoy using my passion for football to support them.
With this year’s Black History Month focusing on “saluting our sisters” it was felt that with Rhea’s comment to women’s football, together with her work supporting young people, she was an obvious choice to be added to the permanent exhibition.
Christmas Card Competition!
It might only be the start of November but we are already thinking about Christmas!

The competition is open to anyone under the age of 18 who is currently attending a primary school, secondary school or youth organisation.

Wrap Up London!
For all first team games at Champion Hill in October and November, fans can donate old winter coats to help those less fortunate.
At all Dulwich Hamlet home games starting this weekend and throughout November, we are proud to be supporting the Wrap Up London! Campaign.
We are collecting any unwanted winter coats which will be redistributed to local charities and community groups who directly offer support to people who are homeless, refugees, older people, people fleeing domestic violence, and those at risk through living in poverty.
If you have a big winter coat, which you no longer want, please bring it down to the club and please ensure it is sufficient to keep a homeless person warm through the winter.
Coats will be accepted for men, women, children and babies.
For people facing crisis, the impact of receiving a coat can go further than just keeping warm. The coats collected by Wrap Up London offer a real opportunity for positive change. When a person at risk makes contact with a charity to collect a coat they receive practical help from that organisation and have the opportunity to accept ongoing support to change their situation long-term.
Coats can be dropped off at the main reception on both Men’s and Women’s home match days.
For any questions about this collection, to donate a large quantity of coats or to donate outside of a matchday please contact
Thank you in advance for your support!

Ever dreamed of setting up your own football club? Join the team behind The Price of Football podcast as they start a (fictional) football club and discover what's really going on behind the scenes of the beautiful game.
Buying a football club will set you back a few quid, but you've also got to pass the Premier League and EFL's 'fit and proper persons test'. That all seems like a bit of a faff to the team behind the award-winning podcast The Price of Football, so acclaimed comedy writer Kevin Day, football finance expert Kieran Maguire and producer Guy Kilty start an imaginary club instead. In Unfit and Improper Persons they take West Park Rovers on a hilarious journey from the lowest level of the FA pyramid right up to the English Football League, the Premier League and, if fortune favours the fictional, into the heart of Europe.
At least that's the plan, but inevitably they face a few challenges along the way. Where to find a shirt sponsor? What should the mascot be - is a dog called Rover too obvious? Can they pay the women's team the same as the men's team? (Spoiler alert: hardly anyone else does.) And how can they get Messi to the Kleanwell Stadium next season, like they promised the fans?
Roofing over the toilets, paying the electric on the floodlights, salary caps, parachute payments and avoiding bankruptcy, never mind relegation - owning a football club isn't all about stuffing prawn sarnies and quaffing champagne in the directors' box. Unfit and Improper Persons is informed, funny and, thanks to exclusive interviews with those who've been there, done that, it lays bare the labyrinthine world of football finance.
The participants:
Kevin Day is an acclaimed stand-up comedian and one of the country's leading comedy writers. He regularly appears on Talksport and BBC5 Live and is currently working on a musical based on the legendary Pawsons Arms pub (honestly). He tweets at @kevinhunterday
Kieran Maguire is the go-to expert on football finance matters. When not regularly appearing on television and radio commentating on matters related to club finance, he teaches the Football Industries MBA at the University of Liverpool Management School. Forbes describes Maguire as a 'soccer finance expert' and his expertise has earned him nicknames such as the 'Columbo of football finance'. He tweets at @KieranMaguire
Guy Kilty, known to listeners of The Price of Football as Producer Guy, has enjoyed a journeyman footballer-style professional career, which has seen him produce and present radio and TV shows at the BBC like Breakfast on BBC One and Wake Up To Money on BBC Radio 5 Live.
