A Junior round up...of sorts!
As far as we could piece them together here are the Dulwich Hamlet Junior Football Club results from the weekend:
Here at Hamlet Pitchero, we have had no feedback with regard to the two Under 7's matches against Villacourt Rovers & Beacons; so cannot tell you how they did yesterday.
We have, however, received an excellent report from the Under 8's superb 11-0 thrashing of Dulwich Village FC:
Dulwich Hamlet under 8's opened their seasons account with The Dill Meadow Dulwich Derby at home against Dulwich Village FC.
The game itself was an onslaught from the very first whistle from the Hamlet boys as, with just one minute on the clock, The Hamlet found themselves 2-0 up courtesy of H. Mahoney and R. O'Sullivan.
Things went from bad to worse before the sound of the half time whistle for The Village with two goals from F. Luxton and a lovely passing move ending with a fine K. Ono finish for Hamlet to make it 5-0 at the break.
Dulwich dominance continued after the interval, much to the dismay of their coaching staff and travelling support as straight from the re-start H. Mahoney and T. Thompson made it 7-0.
With The Hamlet in this kind of form there was only going to be more goals as the floodgates were smashed wide open with a stunning header by D. Isufi from Captain K. Anderson's cross, who then himself shortly after made it 9-0 with a long range effort something he attempted numerous times.
E. Hopwood continued to dazzle on the wings and played a neat ball through for last year’s player of the season winner C. Harris to make it 10-0 with a simple tap-in.
Then finally with seconds to play K. Ono grabbed his second and Hamlets 11th for the icing on the cake.
At full time Manager Lou Scott added, "These boys never fail to impress me; they rightly deserved the standing ovation they received today, what a show they put on! Week in, week out we work very hard together on how we can improve our game and have fun in the process. We have the right balance and believe are building something very special here with this squad".
Thank you for taking the time to send it in!
Moving on, the Under 10's were massively disappointed with the no show of visitors Culverley Rangers, so had to make do with a five-a-side kick about amongst themselves.
The Under 13's were also in action, away to Athenlay Rye, in the C Division, but again, we have not been informed of the score, so can't tell you what it is.
Finally the Under 15's did play, but not the expected League match! The opponents Junior Red Valiants arrived, but not with enough registered players for a match, which meant that both side agreed to a scratch friendly, which the visitors won, by the odd goal in seven. No idea of the goalscorers, as we also have not been informed of the game or result, but one of our Hamlet Pitchero team was watching the match!
Keeping on looking back here for all the news on the Dulwich Hamlet Junior Football Club...as & when we receive it!
