A question or two for Gavin...
Hamlet fan Richard Caldecourt took time out to pose a question or two to the Hamlet First Team manager Gavin Rose...
Here is what was discussed:
There was/is a genuine fear amongst some supporters that you will resign soon, because of results/financial restrictions/other offers from other clubs. Has the thought of leaving crossed your mind?
"Resigning will never happen due to results as myself and the staff are solely responsible for this. Financial restrictions are there, but I agreed to the cut backs at the start of the season so I was aware of the hardships that may come with that. Having said that, any further restraints would make it impossible for us to be competitive and would leave me with no option. We are focused on doing the best we can for the football club. Of course over the period of time I've been at the club moving on has crossed my mind, due to personal pride, when performances have not been of desired level for the Club."
What do you think is the reason behind Dulwich's fluctuating form?
"The league for one is more even, with stronger teams throughout the division. Also, we have dominated a lot of games and failed to capitalize on it with goals."
How have the Reserves been doing, given that several of their recent games have been postponed etc.? Has it been difficult to keep that group of players at the club due to lack of games?
"The players that play in the Capital league are a part of the first team squad so they have been involved with us regardless of games. There is a very exciting group of players bubbling under the surface, who I believe will serve me and the club well this season. The more games and training they get under their belt the better it will be for us."
Are you contemplating getting some new blood into the team or will you stick with these lads for now?
"With the awful luck we've had with had injuries namely; Sinclair, Deen, Turner, etc. we need to get defensive cover in immediately. Unfortunately, however, the budget doesn't grow when you get injured players!"
