But, believe it or not, the result really does NOT matter

The Hamlet Under Eighteens lost 2-1 at home to Tonbridge Angels on Sunday, in a Kent Youth League North Division encounter, but the game is not all about winning; with the ethos of the ASPIRE Academy, from where are players learn their trade under the wing of Gavin Rose, Junior Kadi & Kevin James, being more about the development of players & discipline, that moulds them into young men ready for our First Team, as shown by Xavier Vidal, for example, who shone in the Ryman League Division One South victory over Merstham the previous day, at Champion Hill.

The visiting Angels took the lead in the first half, from the penalty spot, Jamie Mascoll, promoted from our other ASPIRE side, the Under Sixteens, scored the equaliser, in the second half. He was only one of no less than four players having a run our in our higher age group from the Sixteens, which bodes well for the future. Tonbridge hit their winner with only a few minutes remaining on the clock.

Next Sunday, we are once more at home, at the Kent County Cricket Ground, Worsley Bridge Road, Lower Sydenham. Our visitors for another League match are VCD Athletic, 11.00am kick off.

Despite having so many promoted from their squad, our Under Sixteens had an excellent win away to Erith & Belvedere, which keeps our young lads top of their North Division table. Ibrahim Ba, Andrei Famosaya & Morgan Dixon hit our goals in the 3-1 win.
