MATCH PREVIEW | Cheshunt vs Dulwich Hamlet | Isthmian League | 20/9/25

The Hamlet men return to league action on Saturday and take on Cheshunt at Theobalds Lane.

Both of these sides had weekends off last week following exits in the FA Cup to Leiston and Whitstable Town respectively.

Whilst each side struggled at the wrong end of the Isthmian League table last year they've both started the 25/26 season in great form. Both sit in the play-offs having each only suffered 1 league defeat so far.

Last time out the ambers hosted Billericay Town a club fresh from the departure of manager Gary McCann and appointment of Danny Scopes. Cheshunt would have thought they'd won it when they took a 2-1 lead in the 87th minute only for the visitors to rescue a point with a goal in added time.

Before that the Ambers had secured victories over Welling United, Canvey Island, Hashtag United and St Albans City. They also played out a 1-1 draw with Burgess Hill Town. Their only defeat in the league came against Chatham Town in their 3rd game of the season.

The Hamlet bounced back from an FA Cup exit with a victory against Welling United. Without Talisman Luke Wanadio Amadou Kassarate and Anthony Cook stepped up to guide the Hamlet to a 3-1 victory with 2 assists coming from winger Sol Baugh.

Mark Dacey's side are about to enter the busiest part of the season so far with fixtures coming thick and fast. Between now and the end of October they'll take on 4 of the current top 7, finding themselves in 4th at the beginning of that run.

SQUAD NEWS:

Anthony Jeffrey and Gaspar Mico returned to full contact training this week and AJ could feature for the 1st time this season on Saturday afternoon. Mannie Mensah completed his 1st minutes in our 3-1 victory over Welling United and now has 2 weeks of full contact training under his belt.

Nyren Clunis returns from his 1 match ban following his red card against Whitstable Town whilst Luke Wanadio serves the 2nd of his 3 match ban and should return to action in the FA Trophy on Saturday 4th October.
