New book on The Hamlet a great success!
"The Only Way Is Up!",written by the fans for the fans, edited by Hamlet fan Stephen Desmond, was selling well last week,& will be on sale tomorrow too
Commissioned, edited & paid for by Dessie, he recouped his production costs last week, when they were snapped up like proverbial hot cakes at the Huddersfield Town match.
Remaining proceeds from sales will go directly to the 'Dulwich Hamlet 12th Man' campaign.
Here one of the '12th Man' founders, Neil Cole, plugs the book for the official Club website:
The new book written by Dulwich Hamlet fans, aptly titled "The Only Way Is Up", is proving a hit with readers. Hamlet fan Stephen Desmond appealed for contributions to the book from other supporters, and the result is a 140-page memento of our championship winning season, made up of chapters from fifteen different authors.
The book went on sale at last week's friendly against Huddersfield Town, and the queues that formed at the 12th Man stand were an indication of the popularity of the concept. Incredibly, enough copies were sold at that one game to ensure that the costs of the project were covered, and all profit from future book sales will now be donated the Dulwich Hamlet 12th Man campaign.
The remaining copies of the book will be on sale at the friendly games against Millwall (Tuesday 30th July) and Crystal Palace (Tuesday 6th August). If you can't make either game and would like a copy, you can order online at http://dhfc12.blogspot.com. We cannot guarantee stocks of the book will remain beyond the Crystal Palace game so we recommend buying soon to avoid disappointment!
Readers were asked to share their comments on the book, and you can see below a selection of the overwhelmingly positive comments that have been received:
