Papers speculate on Vidal's future
The weekend edition of the 'South London Press', on sale today, reported on the attention from professional clubs, looking at Xavier Vidal
Vid bid is likely
Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose has revealed that a Premier League club has stepped up their interest in teenage star Xavier Vidal.
But the Champion Hill chief is confident that he can keep hold of midfield playmaker Erhun Oztumer, attracting Football League clubs, until next summer. Rose said: "Erhun is one that we'll be looking to have through next season and probably look at moving afterwards-but the pusuit of Xavier is coming from a higher level. He is 18 and people want to get him in early. It's not fair to name the club involved."
The most likely is set to be Palace, who have already signed two players from Hamlet in recent times-defenders Quade Taylor and Michael Chambers. As part of the deal for the latter, the Eagles will send a first-team squad to Dulwich on Tuesday for a friendly.
"It's great for us because we don't get a Premier League side coming to our ground every week," said Rose. "It is good for our supporters and also they will be excellent opposition for my players."
Meanwhile Dulwich have signed former Dover Athletic striker Harry Ottaway. Rose said: "He is a great athlete who holds the ball up well and brings others into play. We believe we can work on him to get more goals and then he'll be a very, very good player for us."
But Dulwich have decided not to offer a deal to Gabriel Oduniake because of the pre-season form of Jerome Walker. "Jerome has done so well coming out of nowhere that we can't ignore him," said Rose. "Gabriel is a really nice guy and we wish him the nest for pursuing his football elsewhere."
