What the papers say...
This afternoon we feature our coverage in the twice weekly 'South London Press', published on Tuesdays & Fridays.
The Tuesday edition, prior to our FA Cup replay with Godalming Town, three days ago, headlined their non-league column with news of a Cup exit from our arch rivals Tooting & Mitcham United, headlined: "Forzoni in ref rant after loss" follwing their 3-1 exit a Leatherhead.
Further down:
"Dulwich Hamlet are back in action tonight at Champion Hill in an FA Cup replay after a 2-2 draw at Godalming on Saturday. Gavin Rose's side needed a late penalty to earn another crack at reaching the second qualifying round-Erzan Oztumer keeping his composure from the spot. Hamlet took the lead through Dean Carpenter as he dispossessed Warren Harris and then fired his shot across Jake Somerville. Warren Harris equalised just before half-time and then Antonio Simeone converted a free-kick in the 52nd minute to put Godalming ahead."
In the weekend edition, published today, the Friday paper traditionally have more non-league coverage than the earlier one:
Dulwich progress
"Dulwich Hamlet will face Arlesey Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round after a penalty shootout win on Tuesday night,
writes Richard Cawley.
Ellis Green put the South Londoners in front at Champion Hill but it was quickly cancelled out. Calaum Martin restored Dulwich's advantage in the first minute of extra time but Godalming were once more swift to restore parity. Yet the Surrey club sent their first two spot-kicks sailing over the bar and keeper Phil Wilson saved their fourth attempt. Erhun Oztumer, Peter Adeniyi and Lewis Gonsalves converted for a 3-1 shootout success. Dulwich continue their cup commitments with an FA Trophy tie at Romford tomorrow before travelling to Arlesey the following weekend. Rose said: "I'm mulling over my team selection because we've gone through extra-time and got the FA Cup the week after. I need to make sure the players are strong and fit. Even though I'm limited on senior players I might mix it up and save some of the legs of the other boys by giving one or two of the squad a chance."
