PREVIEW | Ashford Town (Middlesex) vs Dulwich Hamlet | 05/01/25
The Hamlet women return to FAWNL action on Sunday as we take on Ashford Town (Middlesex) in our first game of 2025!
The Hamlet finished a memorable 2024 picking up a point against strugglers London Seaward at Champion Hill.
When these 2 sides met earlier this season Summer Roberts scored her only goal of the campaign before an injury ruled her out for the rest of the entire 24/25 campaign. The Hamlet were in 7 heaven as they started life in the FAWNL with a bang.
Ashford find themselves bottom of the table with just one victory this season. That victory came against fellow strugglers London Seaward back in September. In their final game before Christmas they picked up a valuable point against Chesham United taking them up for 4 points.
The Hamlet will be without Summer Roberts who will be out until the end of the season. Angie Dunbar-Bonnie got involved in a light session at training on Thursday night. Tash Stephens has a broken toe so will look to return to action at some point towards the end of January and the beginning of February.
It's worth remembering that due to pitch work at the home of Ashford Town (Middlesex) This game will be played at the home of Hanworth Villa. The address is Hanworth Villa FC, Rectory Meadow, Park Road (off Hounslow Road), Hanworth, Middlesex, TW13 6PN.

The Hamlet will look to end 2024 on a high as we host London Seaward for our final home game of 2024 and you can get your tickets here.
Tickets for the game with London Seaward on Sunday can be purchased in advance here.
This is the 3rd meeting between the 2 sides this season with the Hamlet securing victories in both of the other fixtures. The first was a 1-0 victory in our first FAWNL away game before we visited Seaward on the following Wednesday to defeat Seaward in the FAWNL Cup determining round. The Hamlet that night secured a 4-0 win to advance into the cup.
The Hamlet will be without Angie Dunbar-Bonnie and Tash Stephens who remain out until the new year. Saskia Reeves Priestley also remains out with a January return likely.
It's been a difficult end to a succesful 2024 for Dulwich who picked up just one win in November when they defeated Chesham United at Champion Hill. Recent results include exits from the FA Cup at Lewes and a defeat at Chatham Town in the Quarter-Final of the Isthmian Women's Cup.
London Seaward head to south London with only one league win this season. That came on the opening day when they defeated Chesham United 2-1.
Other victories have come in the FA Cup before they fell to defeat against Brentford who went on to reach the 3rd Round Proper.
2024 has been a year to remember for the Hamlet as we won our first league title gaining promotion from the LSRWFL in May when we defeated Saltdean in Newhaven which lead to incredible celebrations back home in south London.
The Hamlet have started life in the 4th tier well picking up 16 points from a possible 33 including memorable victories over Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium as well as an opening day draw against Norwich City in front of over 800 supporters at Champion Hill.
