A defender during his playing career, spent mostly with the club now known as Walthamstow but previously Waltham Forest and Leyton Pennant.

He also played for Enfield, Harlow Town, Waltham Abbey, Ware, Sawbridgeworth Town and Brimsdown Rovers.

Matt’s coaching career includes spells as assistant manager at Walthamstow and Cheshunt, and he was recently assistant to Justin Moseley during his brief tenure as caretaker manager at Braintree Town before joining him at the Hamlet.
