MATCH PREVIEW | Dulwich Hamlet vs Hashtag United | 28/09/25
The Hamlet women take on 2nd place Hashtag United with both sides looking to advance to the knock-out stages of the FAWNL League cup this Sunday.
Maria Tavares and her side will be going for their 3rd win in the competition after convincing victories against London Bees and Crystal Palace. A win will secure top spot and their place in the knock-outs of the league cup rather than the plate competition.
A Jessica Francis Weir brace saw the Hamlet come from behind on matchday 1 against London Bees on a Thursday night in North London.
On Matchday 2 the Hamlet battled to victory against a difficult Crystal Palace side. Defender Rhea Gall scored her 1st of the season after 20 minutes dedicating her goal to Helena McLean before Natalie Taylor secured victory in the 89th minute with a low strike into the bottom corner.
That was Gall's 1st of 2 goals in 3 games as she joins Taylor and Francis Weir as our top scorers in all competitions.
Hashtag United visited Champion Hill in pre season and the Tags returned to Essex with a 1-0 win.
In the league season they've picked up just one victory in the league this season. A 1-0 victory over Lewes at Parkside. They find themselves just one place above the relegation zone.
In the FAWNL League Cup they defeated Crystal Palace 6-1 before drawing 2-2 with London Bees. A win for them on Sunday will see them leapfrog the Hamlet and secure top spot and a guaranteed place in the knock-outs of the FAWNL League Cup.
SQUAD NEWS:
Liz O'Callaghan is out for up to 2 months following the injury she sustained against Fulham 2 weeks ago.
